John and Novella Love Story

John has always been known among his large, tight-knit family as the funny guy, the joker, the nice guy. But after a few lukewarm introductions, the self-employed insurance agent was skeptical, admittedly. He had started to wonder if maybe this just wasn’t going to work for him.  Then came Novella.

Novella told her matchmaker that this time, she wanted to do things the right way. “I don’t want to just like someone because they’re handsome,” she said. “I want to follow the process.” When John entered the picture, something felt aligned.

Their first call didn’t exactly sparkle. John sounded unsure, a little cautious. But when they met in person, that was the “a-ha!” moment. As Novella puts it, “Something just clicked.”

Their second date wasn’t a dinner or a drink; it was a hike. Novella, the early riser who loves watching the sun rise over the mountains, was thrilled that John was up for something active and outdoors. She didn’t want to just sit and talk. She wanted to do. And John loved her energy, her presence, her spirit. He called her “cute,” but what really got him was the connection. “I was losing a little faith,” he admitted. “But when we met, it just worked.”

Their conversations flowed. Hours on the phone felt like minutes. They rang in the New Year side by side, laughing and enjoying each other’s company in a way that felt easy and light, but also real.

Novella says she’s monogamous by nature, and John was already feeling the same pull. “I don’t want to see anyone but her,” he said. “This is what I was looking for. I need someone who just gets me.”

They both admitted to being a little nervous, but underneath that fear was something stronger: genuine connection. Real affection. Mutual respect. And a desire to see where this could truly go.
