He is very kind

He is very kind and is clearly making a sincere effort to open up and build trust and a connection. It has been encouraging to see this progress. I expressed that I need a strong emotional connection to feel secure in a relationship, and he has shown effort toward that. Because of previous experiences with opening up and bad experiences, he felt the need to be guarded. Hopefully, it goes as planned.
